One of the best things about being a Tolkien fan is meeting fellow Tolkien fans from all over the world anytime, anywhere. You’ll meet people from all walks of life and different cultures and you will find loads of things to have fun with. And to celebrate two hundred posts at the Tolkienist’s Instagram account (hooray!) I’ll share some of the funniest and most interesting pictures I’ve taken since September 19th, 2012.

Getting the best in merchandise together. Posted: May 8th, 2013.

In the background you can see the German Tolkien Society’s first official beer mat. In the foreground are three collectible Kinder … thingies. I’ll leave it up to you to guess who’s who.

Meeting some friends at Hobbit*Con. Posted: April 3rd, 2013.

That’s what you get for having fun at one of the greatest conventions there is. Coming up next: Ring*Con in October. I’ll be there again!

Doing a radio interview shortly before “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” Posted: December 13th, 2013.

Having fun with fellow translator and Tolkien expert Lisa Kuppler at Flux.fm, a Berlin radio station. Questions about? The Hobbit. And Second Breakfast is in, obviously.

Damn, did Frodo have a brother working in gastronomy? Posted: July 6th, 2013.

On business in Hamburg, great weather, nice talks – and a decent pint at this, Bodo’s Boat Bridge (alliteration, here I come ;)) And I almost made it to Mundsburg (Gondor pun!)

Yes, even Sauron has to look for another field of activity these days. Posted: September 18th, 2013.

While walking through one of Berlin’s shopping malls I found this 😉

This is post no. 200 on my instagram account. Oxford.

Just to show you there always is a connection to the Professor… 🙂

What are your funniest and/or most interesting pictures? Share them in the comments’ section down below, I’d love to see them!
