The Road goes ever on and on …
When Bilbo finally heads off for Rivendell after his ‘Long-expected Party’ he sings this song:
The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
And I think this is very fitting for this particular Patreon account I have just registered and which is meant to show you what interesting sites, people, groups, articles, books and ideas exist when it comes to the literary heritage of J.R.R. Tolkien.
What will you be seeing here on this account? You will get first access to my work, have a say in what I might be looking into over the next couple of weeks and months, and receive the latest news and suggestions on anything of relevance related to Tolkien’s life and works and everything that has been inspired and/ or influenced by him.
With the Amazon series coming up soon we will live in interesting times and I would love to be your guide through the modern day wilderness of social media, blogging and more traditional channels of information. [Possible future projects included, of course :)]
Welcome!
Why not join in the adventure? It’d be fantastic to have you with me.
All the best from Berlin,
Marcel
